Sorry that it's been a while since our last post.  Here's what's been happening.  Austin and Whitney are both playing basketball. . . Whitney met Sarah Palin at a volleyball tournament. . . I ran a half marathon in Surf City U. S. A. and saw the "GOONIES" house . . Jessica is working again at the Cordova Family Advocacy Center.  We are blessed to say the least.

Copper River Rumble

Austin had a wrestling tournament this weekend and I must say that he did pretty well for not having wrestled for five years.  I also must say that it was really nerve wracking to watch my child get twisted into unnatural positions at this higher level of competition.   He had three matches for the day, which he lost, and one final round that night.  That is the match you'll see in the link.  His match is at minute 52:17.  Make sure your volume is on; they had some nice things to say about him.  Enjoy!

Because it's been so long...

Earlier this summer, the kids attended NBC basketball camp.  They both had a great time and learned a lot.

Just before school started, Austin competed in his first Cross Country meet of the season.  He finished third over all and first for his team with a time of 18:17.

Mike and Whitney went on a long hike up Heney Ridge in August.  Hard to believe they found a patch of snow!

Austin did a LOT of fishing this salmon season.  These are two of his best catches.

Fun Filled Day

Mike got home on Sunday morning, after two weeks on the water, only to have to leave again on Tuesday morning for two to three weeks.  We certainly made the most of the time and weather while he was home.  Sunday was kind of a wash because he was so tired, but today was amazing!  Our new thermometer, courtesy of Grandma Alice, had our high temperature at 73 degrees.  It was perfect!  We went to the gravel pit to ride the four wheeler, then over to the shooting range to fire off some rounds, followed by a pick-up soccer game, and topped of with a happy birthday to our 15 year old.  It was a crazy, fun filled day!  Enjoy!

There's the daily flight from Anchorage...

Redneck fabulous!  He was cold from the water, so he took his shirt off to dry in the sun.  Too funny not to share!

...and off again to Yakutat.
